yarn and weaving goodness

Last week, I stopped in to help my friend, the super talented Tanya Aguiniga with her yarn and weaving installation Crossing the Line at the Craft and Folk Art Museum . This was one of my little bits.  Craft and art are so great when a community gets together to get it together. The opening is this Saturday, Jan 29th along with the Ackerman exhibit.

fiber sculpture

My experiments in materials, yarn bombing, felting, and coiling from Carol Shaw-Sutton's Fiber Sculpture class at CSULB this past fall. One more piece still in progress. Seriously, Carol knows everything and it was all about smart hands :)

Akemashite Omedetou!

That means Happy New Year in Japanese. Nothing like some warm ozoni soup, osechi, and a tiny cup of sake at my in-law's house after a night of dance party moves at Jenna's. Yum. It's 2011 y'all.
