3"x6" recycled porcelaine tiles laid out in a herringbone pattern; my inspirations here and here; busy pattern takes attention away from the odd floorplan; eternally grateful to the contractors whose knees were beat after installation!

Nadine, the latest laser cut masterpiece from a collection called Future Flora by Tord Boontje. Check out the little video on how it opens up here.

baggage claim yellow

Virgin America has taken over this side of baggage claim at LAX and has already painted red swatches on parts of the tile. This means all this pretty 1960's yellow will soon be gone. Decided to bond with it in the 20 minutes we waited for my brother in law's flight to arrive.

blue Intelligentsia tile

Before leaving Mission West tile, I spotted this tile... sooo we had to make an afternoon stop at Intelligentsia in Silverlake to see the full effect, again! Barbara Bestor, who is responsible for this madness, is a genius! She also masterminded Lou's Wine Bar which is also filled with all sorts of prints and patterns.

Cecconi's

Just love the look of this place - the blueberry color, the wood lattice, the marble, the glass... it's the interior of a new restaurant in West Hollywood called Cecconi's - very inspiring!

Modern Earth Originals

I found my new pair of glasses! I bought them at Society of the Spectacle located down the street in Highland Park from the coolest local owner, Amy. They are by Modern Earth Originals made locally (super!) in Orange County, use recycled aluminum (wow!!) in the front part of the frame, and found out that the owner moved the location of his company closer to his employees when he found out that the majority of them were commuting. SO AWESOME.

Most importantly, I found a style that fit me perfectly - Saucey!! Hooray!!

green celluloid necklace

Did a trade with a friend for this fun and lovely green celluloid necklace from the 1950's-60's. Love it.

Steelwood Chair

The limited edition green Steelwood Chair by the Bouroullec Brothers at Conran Shop is perfection. First of all, this has been my favorite green for the last few years - that cool art deco, not quite mint, green. Second, I have two vintage Danish chairs with a similar shape - hi arms, but low back which means low profile, and they are the most comfortable, ergonomically correct dining chairs. Only 200 of the babies have been made!
